Our story takes place on Christmas Eve. Honzík and Matěj, eight-year-old twins who are completely different both in looks and personality, can’t wait for the big day. The only gloomy part of the Christmas preparations is their grumpy neighbor, who, with his menacing expression, wildly tangled hair, and green bathrobe, looks like a character from a book known for hating Christmas. The neighbor’s unpleasant interruptions and the seemingly inexplicable mishaps happening around the house only confirm the boys’ suspicion that he is determined to ruin Christmas. To make matters worse, their mom collapses and must be taken to the hospital with appendicitis. To the boys’ horror, the person put in charge of looking after them is none other than the neighbor! But he’s not happy about it either. He truly doesn’t like Christmas and refuses to celebrate it. But why?When the boys find the answer to that question, they might just manage to save Christmas!
